Website AI Guide: a Call or Chat button for your own website
What it is
A small Call or Chat button that sits in the corner of your own website. A visitor taps it and either talks to our AI Guide by voice (right in their browser, no phone call needed) or types to it. The AI Guide answers questions using only the facts you give us about your business, then collects the visitor's name, contact details, suburb, job type, timing and rough budget, and emails the enquiry to you.
It answers people's questions straight away, but the real finalisation of any quote or booking is done in person by you and your team. The AI Guide hands over, you follow up.
It is built for builders and other trades who miss enquiries when they are on the tools or the website is quiet after hours. You add it with one line of code.
How it works
- You tell us about your business: services, areas, hours, typical lead times, questions you get asked a lot, and anything the AI Guide must never say.
- We set it up and send you one line of code. Paste it into your website, just before the closing body tag. Most website builders (Wix, Squarespace, WordPress and similar) have a place for this.
- Visitors call or chat. Enquiries land in your inbox as a tidy summary, with the transcript.
Your embed code looks like this:

What the AI Guide will and will not do
- It always says it is the AI Guide for your business. It never pretends to be a person or the owner.
- It only uses facts from your profile. If it does not know, it says so and takes a message.
- It does not quote firm prices or promise start dates unless you tell it that is fine. Any price guidance you give it is passed on as a guide only.
- It tells visitors that your team finalises any quote or booking in person and will follow up.
- It uses plain, friendly English and does not take instructions from visitors. A visitor cannot talk it into changing its rules.
- It asks for what you need to follow up, reads the details back to check them, and then sends them to you.
- It tells visitors that a text record of the conversation is kept, and not to share card numbers or passwords.
What you get

- Enquiries emailed to up to three addresses, and kept on our side for 12 months.
- A monthly usage count (voice minutes, chats, enquiries).
- You can pause it at any time by asking us, and the button disappears from your site straight away.

Good to know
- Voice calls need a microphone and a modern browser. If a visitor cannot use voice, the button offers text chat and shows your phone number if you want it shown.
- The button runs from this directory's servers and talks to an AI voice and language service. The conversation text is stored so we can send you the enquiry and fix problems.
- If your website has a Content Security Policy, we will give your web person the two lines to add. Most small business sites do not need anything.
- This is separate from the free directory listing and does not change how your business appears in the directory.
